World AIDS Day Service of Remembrance
and Hope – December 1, 2006.
On Friday, December 1st, 2006, World AIDS Day, The Care
Communities held its 9th Annual Service of Remembrance and
Hope. This year’s service was conducted at the
St. Edward’s University Chapel, 2001 S. Congress Avenue. During
this Service there was an opportunity to spend time in reflection,
prayer, meditation, song and dance. As part of the
service, the Holy Cross Church liturgical dancers performed
a beautiful dance. Deborah Duncan (recently in the
performance of “Crowns”) sang a tribute to those
who have died. At the conclusion, Cantor Marie Betcher,
of Congregation Shir Ami, sang a blessing, and those who
participated shared in food and fellowship. |
